Emeka Ogboh: The Way Earthly Things Are Going © Emeka Ogboh

›The Way Earthly Things Are Going‹ is the fulldome adaptation of Emeka Ogboh’s eponymous sound installation conceived for documenta 14 in Athens.

The work of the artist combines a real-time LED display of the world stock index with the ancient Greek lament ›When I forget, I am glad‹, which unfolds into a spatial composition triggered by the singing of the a cappella choir ›Pleiades‹. Here, the voices of the female choir, which sing of forced migration and the search for a better life, contrast with the ongoing information flows of the capital markets.
