Born in 1944 in Saarland, Galli is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary German painting. In contrast to the ›Neuen Wilden‹ movement, she developed a deeply personal visual language from the 1980s onwards, blending gestural spontaneity with narrative depth, while exploring universal themes such as myth, art history, and religion. With tireless ›Pazienza‹, her work continually circles around the human body as a site of existential experience, persistently questioning it as a bearer of identity. In this process, amorphous, figurative forms and everyday objects come together in ever-evolving ways, reflecting the tension between the domestic and the worldly, the ordinary and the fantastical.
