On the occasion of Berlin Art Week, Sweetwater is presenting a solo exhibition by Hanna Hur. Hanna Hur (*1985, Toronto) is a Canadian-Korean artist whose work is characterized by a contemplative visual language, subtle materiality, and formal rigor. Her geometrically structured drawings and installations emerge through a slow, ritualistic process. Using recurring forms such as grids, circles and waves, she creates optical vibrations that activate both the surrounding space and the viewer’s perception. Hur’s works oscillate between visible form and immaterial presence.
›Visitor‹ marks Hur's first solo exhibition in Germany—and her first comprehensive presentation in Europe. Her works have previously been shown in exhibitions at the Doosan Art Center in Seoul (2024) and the Gallery Kristina Kite in Los Angeles (2023), among others and are in the collection of the Hammer Museum Los Angeles, among others.
