The Deluge

As part of Featured 2025 | Curated by Lee Plested in collaboration with Matthias Krause Hamrin

Flutgraben
Am Flutgraben 3, 12435 Berlin

›The Deluge‹ is an exhibition project which intends to fill the presentation spaces of Flutgraben with a flood of artistic positions and their publics. The purpose is to both support critical production through presentation and engage the various constellations of this self organising association in a conversation with their peers and audience during a period (Berlin Art Week) of high visibility and traffic.

Taking a literal understanding of the name of the building and playing with its mythical dimension, ›The Deluge‹ gestures to floods (and graves) both allegorical and actual. In gathering together a multiplicity of critical positions for individual reflection and refraction with others, the large group exhibition seeks to foster dialogue from a myriad of perspectives. At this time of ecological transformation and global political uncertainty, where historical power structures are being transfigured in radical and uncertain ways, the urgency in artists practice has rarely been more palpable. The project brings together these voices for shared reflection and discussion.
