Buchmann Galerie represents 20 international contemporary artists with a focus on sculptors and painters.
Founded in Switzerland in 1975 and located in Lugano, the gallery in Germany opened in 1995. Since 2005, the gallery is located with two adjacent exhibition spaces in Berlin. The gallery is an active part of the Berlin art community, having been one of the galleries inviting international guests for the Gallery Weekend Berlin since 2007.
The gallery has worked with most of its artists from an early point in their career: with Tony Cragg and Wolfgang Laib since the early 1980s; with Tatsuo Miyajima and Lawrence Carroll since the mid-1990s; and with Bettina Pousttchi, Fiona Rae and Clare Woods since the early and mid-2000s. New artists represented by the gallery are Jason Martin, Gajin Fujita and Pedro Cabrita Reis, known for many solo exhibitions in museums all over Europe and his two-time documenta and Venice Biennale participation.
