Kvost—Kunstverein Ost

The Kunstverein Ost - Kvost for short - is dedicated to supporting contemporary art from Central and Eastern Europe as well as artists whose lives and work were shaped by the conditions of the Eastern Bloc. Kvost provides a platform for artists to share their experiences and perspectives and fosters mutual understanding. In light of increasing nationalism in many European countries and the Russian invasion of Ukraine in particular, Kvost sees cultural exchange as an opportunity to build solidarity and establish connections. Especially now, when there is acute concern that the situation in Eastern Europe could develop into a threat to democratic institutions, Kvost is building bridges to precisely these countries and places beyond the metropolitan areas.
