Positions Berlin Art Fair opens for the 11th time this year. After the 10th anniversary last year, the Positions just keeps celebrating! Regardless of a number, art is always reason enough. Since 2014, the exhibition has featured international galleries exhibiting their most important works of contemporary and modern art.
Positions Berlin Art Fair continues to grow: 110 galleries from 24 countries are participating in this year’s edition, including 6 from South Korea, forming a key highlight.
The generous hangars 6 and 7 of Berlin-Tempelhof Airport offer a unique setting for the artworks. The meter-high ceilings bathed in light as well as the open airfield create an open and relaxed atmosphere. A diverse supporting program with special exhibitions, awards, talks and other highlights will take place across more than 10,000 square meters.
With the special exhibition Academy Positions by Berlin Hyp, young talents who have just graduated from university present their works to an international art market audience for the first time. This section offers the Academy participants the opportunity to present themselves and be discovered. With the collaboration partner BERLIN HYP, the POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair also awards Academy artists, whose works will be shown in an individual exhibition the following year. Within this context, new works by the 2024 prize winners Anna Zachariades and Ludwig Kuffer will be exhibited.
Together with Zilkens Fine Art Switzerland, the exhibition is also awarding the Best Booth Award for the third time this year. This award is awarded annually by a jury for the best booth presentation of a gallery during the Positions Berlin Art Fair Berlin.
The Selected Positions section will be presented this year in combination with a Lounge by Sofa Company. In a residential environment, this section aims to ease aspiring collectors’ entry into the art market, offering curated artworks recommended by the team, priced at a maximum of 3000 euros.
The format Fashion Positions ultimately makes the interface between fashion and art visible: selected Berlin fashion designers show what drives them artistically, what inspires their creations, directly linking fashion and art.
At Positions Berlin Art Fair the expressive creative scene of Berlin is made visible and especially felt in all its aspects.
