For almost 15 years, Schinkel Pavillon e.V., under the direction of artist Nina Pohl, offers contemporary sculpture, installations, and media art in a monument of GDR architecture between Staatsoper and Kronzprinzenpalais. As a platform for the presentation and promotion of local and international artists, the non-profit association is committed to the autonomy of the fine arts, resisting financial constraints and operating as a non-commercial forum. The exhibitions present outstanding positions that engage in an intensive dialogue with the iconic architecture of the space. The ambitious exhibition programme combines emerging artists with historically influential positions and presents solo or comprehensive thematic group shows with young and established artists such as Louise Bourgeois, Pierre Huyghe, Precious Okoyomon, John Miller, Lynda Benglis, Nicole Eisenmann, Mike Kelley, Cyprien Gaillard or Goshka Macuga.
