Boglárka Börcsök & Andreas Bolm: subjoyride

Sophiensæle
Sophienstraße 18, 10178 Berlin

Subjoyride invites you to enter a physical dialogue with the poetic work of the German Dadaist Baroness Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven (1874—1927). Using voice, gestures, music and embodiment, Boglárka Börcsök and Andreas Bolm explore the multi-layered personality and eccentric work of the Baroness, which combines poetry, performance and sculpture. They question the mechanisms of the white, hegemonic art canon by speculating on the authorship of the famous ready-made Fountain—the upside-down urinal traditionally attributed to Marcel Duchamp, but now increasingly associated with the Baroness.
