Kunst Raum Mitte in Berlin opens with DIFFRACTIONS 2024. At the center of this year's program is the exhibition Transforming, which places the spatial, material, and historical relationships of the venue, the former galerie weisser elefant, in new contexts.
On view are installative and acoustic artworks that take up the spatial structures in an atmospheric way: ghostly arrangements, porcelain flowers on the walls, and subtle sounds merge with concrete and graffiti. Together with selected archival material and a performance, the architecture and the everyday life of political action are put on display.
With artistic contributions by Jesse Darling, Green Papaya, Robert Lippok, Minh Duc Pham, Katrin Steiger, Pam Virada, Anna Zett (Artist in Research Residence) and talks with Rainer Görß, Isabel Lewis and others. Exhibition design by Martha Schwindling.
Curators: Natalie Keppler and Agnieszka Roguski
