We are pleased to present Elvira Bach's solo exhibition ›So rot, so rot‹ on the occasion of Berlin Art Week 2025.
A leading protagonist of the ›Neue Wilde‹ movement in Berlin in the 1980s, Elvira Bach gained international recognition for her participation in Documenta 7 in 1982. Her expressive self-portraits and depictions of women, which explore the complexity of women's lives and multifaceted identities, have established her as a pioneering figure in the history of art.
Galerie Friese is showing works by Elvira Bach for the first time, focusing on her paintings and drawings from the 1980s. Additionally, the artist will present new works on paper and ceramic sculptures from 2025, which still showcase Bach's distinctive style.
