Art collecting and the collective, how does it fit together? This question is addressed by art critic Saskia Trebing to the members of the Art'Us Collectors' Collective, an extraordinary alliance of four private art collections.
This collective alliance aims to take art beyond the private sphere, organizes exhibitions, supports young artists in particular through publications, and maintains a virtual showroom to make its own holdings transparently accessible. The individual independent collections are located in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Munich and Stuttgart.
Our discussion will explore this unusual approach to collaborative art collection and offer insights into the focal points that characterize this year's exhibition ›WHERE ARE WE NOW—or the Search for the After‹, on view at Wilhelm Hallen through 17 SEP. This group exhibition with over 30 artistic positions forms the second part of a three-part cycle conceived by curator Harald F. Theiss.
