SUN 15 SEP, 8—10pm
Alicia Carrera & Fog Puma

Originally from Galicia, Alicia Carrera is a DJ and visual artist based in Berlin. Her vision has been cultivated in smoky bars, second-hand boutiques and underground publications. She's the founder of the label LÍO press and resident of the infamous Sameheads club in Berlin with the Horrorscope events, aiming to broaden connections with like-minded musicians and to connect a local and international music scene. Her sets always escape from a common place, leading every music selection into a storytelling, guided by the seed of freedom. Whether in her video work, cover artworks, recording radio mixes or energizing a dancefloor, Alicia applies a curatorial mindset and profound love to every endeavor, making her distinctive style instantly recognizable. In her DJ bag meets the charm of the early house and the effervescence of cyberdelic techno, the rhythmic primitivism of the new beat and the sophistication of the new wave, with a special penchant for uncommon melodies. Featured on stations including NTS, Noods, or LYL, her radio mixes are known for being psychedelic soundscapes that unveil hidden gems. Because if it is about emancipating oneself, the first thing is to get carried away by unusual sounds.

DJ Fog Puma was infected by the post-punk, 2-tone and reggae virus at the age of 14, and soon acquired a solid collection of copied cassettes and mixtapes by trading with friends. A few years and some tangled cassette tapes later - initiated by the discovery of New Order's ‘Technique’ album - came the second epiphany in the form of Chicago house, Detroit techno, and communal euphoric dance experiences. Both spheres eventually merged into a preference for hypnotic, rhythmic, dubby, minimalist sounds with a counter-cultural and leftfield attitude. The affinity for this is still reflected in Fog Puma's DJ sets, which move along atmospheres rather than clearly defined genre boundaries. In addition to his dance sets, he also likes to play calmer music, which he presents monthly in the show Abendlandung on Cashmere Radio. He is co-owner of the ecology & counterculture bookshop Zabriskie in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
