The solo exhibition ›Passagiere der Nacht‹ by Ulrike Theusner (*1982, lives and works in Weimar) is inspired by Mikhael Her's film ›Passagiere der Nacht‹, which is set in Paris in the 1980s.
The melancholy and the elusive quality of the film, along with the yearning for vitality and the transient nature of existence, are reflected in Theusner's new monotype series, ›City of Dreamers‹, and her pastel drawings. What does it mean to be human—to feel, to dream and to need relationships with others in order to exist? The works reflect the illusions, desires, infatuations, pains and pleasures of an increasingly uncontrollable world.
