Barbara Wien is pleased to present ›Horizontal Fold‹, the gallery's first exhibition with Andreas Eriksson, realized in collaboration with neugerriemschneider.
Andreas Eriksson (b. 1975, Björsäter, Sweden) works primarily in painting, which he expands through photography, film, silkscreen, weaving and sculpture. Painting is both a subject and a method in Eriksson's practice, and much of his work explores its conditions, histories and possibilities. The landscape surrounding his home and studio in Medelplana, on the shores of Lake Vänern, forms a constant point of departure, returning across different media and bodies of work.
The exhibition brings together a frieze (›Frieze‹, 2026) of paintings and photographs, an architectural installation derived from the veranda of the artist's house in Medelplana, accompanied by silkscreen prints and textiles based on the studio's windows, and a group of cast bronze birds from the series ›Content is a Glimpse‹.
