Katharina Sieverding: Life—Death

As part of Berlin Art Week 2026, Galerie Thomas Schulte is presenting the exhibition ›Life—Death‹ by Katharina Sieverding. The exhibition centers on the 1969 film of the same name, complemented by large-format film stills and previously unpublished Polaroids. Created in what was then West Berlin, the work reflects an early phase in the artist’s career and a historic moment marked by intense political, social, and aesthetic upheavals. Notably, ›Life—Death‹ was shown at documenta 5 in Kassel in 1972, underscoring the work’s early art-historical significance.
