Opening reception ›Mathias Gramsoso: Rhetorical Silence‹
Thursday, 10 SEP 2026, 6—10pm
There are forms of perception that emerge only when the world grows quiet. As familiar coordinates fall away, another landscape slowly reveals itself. ›Rhetorical Silence‹ begins here.
For seven days and seven nights, Mathias Gramoso inhabits a spherical chamber without light, horizon, or external orientation. Inside this seamless architecture, attention gradually shifts from the outside world toward the subtle movements of thought, breath, memory, and imagination.
The exhibition unfolds through the ›exuviae‹ of this experience: spoken reflections, acoustic and visual recordings, gestural drawings, handwritten notes, and the sphere itself. Like the shed skin of a snake, these traces bear witness to an inner passage that can never be fully recovered.
At its core, ›Rhetorical Silence‹ is a generous, open-ended quest into the possibilities of the mind—a search for altered states of consciousness pursued through silence, darkness, and sustained attention, where the imagination is given the time and freedom to wander.
