Aubrey Levinthal, Biala and Tal R: From the Sleep Side

As part of Gallery Night

On the occasion of this year's ›Berlin Art Week‹, the gallery presents a cross-generational and transcontinental exhibition focusing on recent works by American artist Aubrey Levinthal (b. 1986) placing them in a direct visual and thematic relationship with works by Biala (Janice Biala, 1903—2000) and Tal R (b. 1967). Both artists serve as essential points of reference and sources of inspiration for Levinthal. The exhibition not only connects a historical 20th-century position with contemporary figuration to form a transnational discourse on painting, but also creates an intimate dialogue on the representation of vulnerability and the passage of time in modern painting.
