The exhibition opening ›Kreuzberg: Kunst und Migration seit 1960‹ on Wednesday, 9 SEP from 7—10pm is free of charge.
Free admission is available for the following persons on presentation of appropriate identification:
- Children and young people up to the age of 18
- Representatives of the press holding a valid press ID
- Persons receiving social benefits or unemployment benefits, type 2 Persons accompanying a disabled person, provided the medical necessity for an attendant is noted in the disability pass
- Persons lending objects to the exhibitions (or their representatives)
- Members of the International Council of Museums (ICOM)
- Members of the International Association of Art (IAA)
- Members of the International Committee for Museums and Collections of Modern Art (CiMAM)
- Members of the Professional Association of Visual Artists Berlin (BBK Berlin)

The reduced price is available for the following persons on presentation of appropriate identification:
- Students, trainees (from 18 years of age), those engaged in national or community service (student groups of five or more receive a separate discount, which is also available in the online shop and on site)
- Unemployed persons claiming ›ALG I‹ job-seekers’ allowance
- Pensioners
- Severely disabled persons (with at least 50% reduction in earning capacity) on presentation of the appropriate identification

For individuals with reduced mobility, wheelchairs or prams, the Gropius Bau can be accessed via the barrier-free entrance located to the left of the main entrance. The building provides barrier-free access to all exhibition floors. Wheelchairs and portable museum stools are available to loan from the cloakroom. Accessible toilets are located on the basement level (all gender toilet) and first floor. Medically required attendants for people with severe disabilities will be admitted free of charge. Nowhere were the social and cultural changes of 1960s and 1970s West Germany more powerfully manifest than in Berlin’s Kreuzberg neighbourhood. Here, the broader transformations reshaping life in the Federal Republic through labour recruitment agreements with countries including Italy, Greece, and Turkey became visible at the local scale. Opening in autumn 2026, the group exhibition ›Kreuzberg: Kunst und Migration seit 1960‹ (Art and Migration since 1960) focuses on the diverse and largely overlooked cultural production on the topic of labour migration and on how artists in the neighbourhood have responded to the tensions and issues of their time.
