A garden does not thrive on bold statements and signs, but on attention and sustained care. ›In My Garden‹ (2026), Josh Johnson’s new solo performance, plays with forms of dispersal, distribution, and falling. As conventional dance forms dissolve, new creative impulses emerge within the flow of movement. Johnson develops the work in the spirit of the American writer Toni Morrison, who discerned the patterns of natural life cycles in historical developments. What disappears from the surface is therefore not entirely erased, but merely returns to the soil, from which new forms may soon emerge.
