Recording-Ufo

In cooperation with Berliner Hörspielfestival

Berlin Art Week Garten
am Kulturforum, 10785 Berlin

This event is taking place at Berlin Art Week Garten at Gemäldegalerie.

›Recording-Ufo‹, a mobile recording studio, lets visitors improvise miniature audio pieces using their voices or everyday objects that make sound—rustling paper, objects to rub together, bells, chains, stones, and more. Anyone in need of an idea can dip into the box of word chocolates for inspiration. Experienced producers are on hand at ›Recording-Ufo‹ to turn the recordings into little works of sound art. The finished mini radio plays will make guerrilla appearances throughout the programme of the Berlin Radio Play Festival at Akademie der Künste (Hanseatenweg) from 18–20 SEP and will also be available in the festival’s media library. Get ready to hit the mic!

FRI, 11 SEP with Yasmeen Al-Qaisi
The emotional technician is a trickster listener, sometimes a poet who writes for voice and paper, articulates and performs language with sound, food or care practices towards uncontainable forms of literature. When writing with sound, Yasmeen Al-Qaisi shape-shifts in inexistent institutional forms, invents jobs, engages in human and more than human relations and broadcasts temporarily or mobile on free and public radios.
