The Konzerthaus Berlin is one of Germany’s leading venues for classical music—and far more than a concert hall. With around 300 in-house events each season, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin under the leadership of Chief Conductor Joana Mallwitz, and a wide range of innovative audience engagement formats, we create experiences that move and inspire.
We bring together seemingly contrasting elements: tradition and innovation, excellence and accessibility, the classical canon and new formats. We firmly believe that music has the power to touch people regardless of their educational background or social circumstances. That is why we foster a welcoming culture that encourages a sense of belonging and invites everyone to take part—whether they are first-time visitors or long-standing regular audience members.
Konzerthaus Berlin is not only rooted in Gendarmenmarkt; it is also an active part of a vibrant and diverse urban community. We work collaboratively with artists, initiatives, and the city’s independent cultural scene to open up the world of music to as many people as possible.
