The Kurt Mühlenhaupt Museum in Berlin-Kreuzberg is dedicated to the life and work of the Berlin painter, poet, and storyteller Kurt Mühlenhaupt (1921–2006). Raised in humble circumstances in a garden cottage community in Tempelhof, born on a train ride to Berlin: Mühlenhaupt came from the margins of society and, from that vantage point, painted life with an unflinching gaze. His former studio on Fidicinstraße has now been transformed into a vibrant meeting place, right in the heart of the neighborhood and open to everyone. His life motto, ›Art for All People,‹ continues to shape the museum’s programme to this day: exhibitions, workshops, and events that connect art history with contemporary issues. The museum is led by Hannelore Mühlenhaupt and her team, who keep this legacy alive with personal passion and artistic intuition.
