Walter Storms Galerie

The Walter Storms Gallery was founded in 1977 in Munich by the art historian Walter Storms and is today regarded as one of the leading galleries for contemporary conceptual art with strong ties to the German ZERO movement. Its program brings together established international figures of the European avant-garde, important ZERO artists, and a younger generation of emerging artists.

Walter Storms engaged early on with art from Eastern Europe and was the first gallery in Germany to represent, among others, Roman Opalka and Stanislav Kolíbal. One of the gallery’s long-standing artists is Günther Uecker. In addition, the gallery manages the estate of Günter Fruhtrunk.

Today, the Walter Storms Gallery operates two locations in Munich as well as a branch in Berlin. Through regular exhibitions, publications, and participation in international art fairs, it has been committed to the promotion and dissemination of contemporary art for nearly five decades.
