Another Sunday Afternoon for Berlin Art Week on 13 SEP 2026 from 2—9pm
As part of Berlin Art Week, we cordially invite you once again this year to ›Another Sunday Afternoon‹, a day-long program featuring exhibitions and open studios, talks and readings, performances, and concerts. The event will take place on 13 SEP 2026 from 2—9pm on the grounds of Fahrbereitschaft.
On view will be ›Hardcore. The Exhibition for the Book‹, a group show featuring works by Karin Sander, Wolfgang Tillmans, Heimo Zobernig, and others. The occasion is the release of the eponymous publication by the haubrok foundation: spanning approximately 400 pages, the book compiles memories from the collectors of encounters and projects with artists, as well as exhibitions from the past 25 years. The texts are complemented by specially conceived artistic contributions, as well as interviews and essays by companions of the collection.
Also on view is the final exhibition by Seongwon Park, the first fellow of the ›HAR—Haubrok Artist Residency‹. During her residency at Fahrbereitschaft, the artist set out to explore places in Berlin-Lichtenberg that seem to have fallen out of time: vacant buildings, former shopping centers, abandoned storefronts, and structures whose original function has long since disappeared. Through photographs, drawings, paintings, and sculptures, Park explores the traces left behind by time, use, and neglect in these spaces. The starting point for her project was a former GDR building in Lichtenberg, on whose facade she came across the question »Where do I come from, where am I going?« For the artist, this sentence became a question not only for people, but also for places that remain, in an uncertain way, suspended between the past and the future. The resulting works speak of change, memory, and the city’s silent stories. They turn their gaze toward buildings and spaces that are often overlooked in everyday life, and ask what remains when an original function disappears and something new has not yet begun.
The Galerie Adamski / Berlin, located on the premises, is also opening its doors to present a new exhibition. In addition, several tenants are inviting visitors to studio visits.
The live program kicks off at 3pm with a guided tour by Axel Haubrok through the exhibition ›Hardcore‹.
Following this, Tanzgarage 50 will present new projects: the initiative, based on the premises, has been developing projects for many years that blend contemporary dance, choreography, and experimental performance.—For ›Another Sunday Afternoon for Berlin Art Week‹, Moss Beynon Juckes and Rosalind Masson will offer insights into their current collaborative work. Drawing on sculptures from classical antiquity, the two performers develop a series of living tableaux that they animate, transform, and reassemble using their bodies and voices. In doing so, they question traditional role models and the representation of power, violence, and gender in Western art history. Both artists have been working internationally for many years at the intersection of dance, performance, and choreography. Also presented will be a project by Cree Barnett Williams and Edward Lloyd. In her work, the Berlin-based choreographer, performer, and curator explores questions of identity, memory, and the political dimension of the body. Together with the performer and artistic researcher Edward Lloyd, she is developing a new work that combines improvisation, movement, and performative research.
Following this, Klaus Lederer, whose great commitment to preserving Fahrbereitschaft—despite disputes with the district and an exhibition ban—is featured in the publication ›Hardcore. A Passion for Collecting Attitudes‹, will discuss this with Axel Haubrok.
In the evening, Big Snuff Berlin will take over the day’s musical program, presenting concerts that oscillate between noise rock and heavy kraut.
The day will conclude with the video installation ›Beverly and La Brea‹ by Marcus Gaab. The work takes as its starting point a famous photograph by Stephen Shore from 1975. Nearly fifty years later, Gaab returns to the same location in Los Angeles and films it again from the same perspective. The result is a simple yet fascinating observation of how places change and why some images remain part of our collective memory for decades.
