Veteranenstraße 21, 10119 Berlin
The way through Acud Kunsthaus is on ground level, but has many different surfaces and is uneven with bricks and cobblestones. The passage from the entrance to the yard can be dark sometimes. The Acud Gallery has barriers for people with walking disabilities. In front of the gallery are two steps, but there is a ground level entrance in the back to the main space. The upper level is only accessible by nine stairs. We are happy to be of assistance. If you have any questions in advance let us know via mail: [email protected].
The barrierfree WC is usually accessible by elevator on the 1st floor, but currently the elevator is out of order. We are sorry for the inconvenience and we’re working on a new elevator. A wheelchair accessible city toilet is on the other side of the street: https://goo.gl/maps/i9QWBeEXAcsUjthw5
Hey sweetie...
You won't believe what I’m about to tell you…
As you enter the realm of soft murmurs, powerful trouble begins to unfold. Here, illicit knowledge travels between lips. Morphed by each tongue, it becomes something that holds us together. A fragile chain, passed on and created by hidden and collective effort.
Shhh…
This gossip can save you.
Brushed aside, written off as trivial, feminine, and unprofessional, gossip has always been a vital mode of transmitting knowledge, signalling danger and building solidarity. Sharing what cannot be spoken aloud, forming alliances and finding resources to counter dominant structures. Our whispers relentlessly disrupt what appears fixed.
I’m not allowed to tell you this but…
We drift on the borderline of what is embraced and what is denied. Spreading myths around this city. Watch precious rumours circulate. As a source of social bonding and empowerment, gossip has long been a vital resource for groups with limited or no access to the public sphere. Hidden talk maintains community, creating alternative cultures and tools of resistance.
Across Berlin Art Week, A Charm of Powerful Trouble continues through an expanded public programme of readings, performances, screenings, printed matter and sound. Stories slip between forms and gather new accomplices. Through these encounters, the project continues to reassemble itself, allowing fragments, borrowed voices and intimate gestures to find relation.
So I keep whispering…
